Korean War memorial, DC

This one was a little more personal, because my father fought in this war. I'm glad that there is a memorial representing the men and women of this conflict. They endured the same hell as soldiers of other wars, except there contribution has been forgotten by the American people. So thank you to all who served in this war....

Vietnam Memorial, DC

Coming from Long Island, specifically levittown, There is a huge population of Vietnam vets. I'm glad the social climate has changed, and the American people realize that soilders don't make policy, they execute it. God Bless every man and women who served in this conflict.

WWII Memorial, DC

This site was incredible. They did a great job renovating it. Alot of thought went into the execution of it, and I must say, it's a very fitting tribute to the men and women who served in this conflict. There are two huge arches, one on each side. One for the Pacific campaign, and one for the Atlantic. In between, there are smaller columns that represent each state and US province that took part in the war. Very touching.
So, there it is. I can't tell you how much you have to come to DC and see these memorials.

Washington Monument, Washington DC

Another great site to see. DC has alot of construction and updating going on right now. The WWII memorial has been redone, and there is alot of clean up going on. They still have alot of work to do, but when everything is done, the city will finally be representative of the strongest country in the world....
They have alot of work to do here, but it was still nice to see...

Lincoln Memorial, Washington DC

DC has been one hell of an experience. I spent two and a half days here, and just about got through the Mall section. There was so much to see here, so much history, so many insitefull things that it just blows your mind. I'm going to keep the memorials separate, but I will combine the Smithsonian museums, since the six separate museums make up Smithsonians realm. Here's the first of the memorials......
I must have stared at Lincoln for 15 minutes, just thinking the poor man must be rolling over in his grave at the state this country is in. The value of our dollar is dropping throughout the world, racism still exists, and power hungry politicians are forcing there own agenda on the world. I guess it's true, the more things change, the more they stay the same......

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

This was the town I stayed in when I was in the Smoky mountains. It was a really cool town. Plenty of resturants, lots of fun things to do, just a plain old fun town. Here's some pics of things I found when I was walking around.....
So, there they are, the next stop, DC. The trip is finally coming to an end. But it's been an awesome time. Next time, more pics of the capital.........

Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee

This is a really neat park. I was on the Tennessee half, but it also goes into Carolina. Ofcourse, not only was I a week to early to see the leaf season, it has also been unusually dry here, so the water falls were really just trickles. Eitherway, I got some good shots, hope you enjoy...
